blended-learning model to educate 7-12th grade students.

What is it that Carpe Diem Schools do?


Carpe Diem Schools successfully educate students in a safe, small (approximately 300 students), relationship centered setting, preparing them for college, careers and life as productive adults.

How are students educated at Carpe Diem Schools?

Carpe Diem Schools teach and coach students utilizing a proprietary blended learning
model (a digital curriculum plus high quality, instruction), personalized learning
experiences and high expectations. Carpe Diem Schools educate, empower, and equip
our students for success in life.

What about the Carpe Diem– Aiken Campus?


Students at Carpe Diem-Aiken will benefit from our highly successful blended
curriculum, which combines digital learning with time in the classroom. And, they’ll
spend their day learning in a brand new, state-of-the-art campus at 5641 Belmont
Avenue in College Hill. Carpe Diem-Aiken was designed with the goal of making
education a more positive, enriching and empowering experience for our students.

Who can attend Carpe Diem–Aiken?

Any middle and high school (7-12th grade) student regardless of abilities, educational
background or income is eligible to attend Carpe Diem-Aiken. Seats for the 2014-15
school year are limited so it is recommended that interested students enroll as soon as
possible.

Carpe Diem–Aiken Campus is a tuition-free, blended learning secondary school
sponsored by Cincinnati Public Schools.

Do the academic programs at Carpe Diem–Aiken meet state standards?

Yes. The curriculum at Carpe Diem’s Aiken Campus conforms to the same stringent
standards as every other public, private or charter school in the State of Ohio. Diplomas
earned at Carpe Diem-Aiken are accredited by the State of Ohio and meet the state’s
requirements. In addition, Carpe Diem Schools are NCA accredited.

What about student achievement?

The Carpe Diem blended learning model has an eight-year record of academic
achievement, student success, and productive work environment for teachers and
students. The Carpe Diem education model takes the best of face-to-face instruction,
digital technology and extended learning opportunities to boost the achievement of our
students. Carpe Diem-Aiken's MAP testing scores indicate almost a two year increase in subjects.

Carpe Diem’s curriculum blends classroom instruction with digital coursework. This
empowers students to progress at the pace that best fits their abilities and academic
goals, while allowing for flexible scheduling to make learning fit today’s busier schedules.

At Carpe Diem-Aiken, we meet each student at their current level and then build
competency and confidence through hard work and encouragement. Our students learn
at their own pace, mastering material prior to moving on to the next level…so they learn
at a pace that’s individual to them, not the pace of an entire classroom. Our students
aren’t labeled by a single grade level but are rewarded for successfully mastering each
subject.

The Carpe Diem education model challenges students to achieve by giving them the
freedom to exceed expectations. Carpe Diem kids gain confidence and a sense of
control in their lives.

Carpe Diem-Aiken students are provided with an opportunity to earn college credits
through digital coursework that prepares them to take CLEP exams (College Level
Examination Program). Students who successfully pass a course-specific CLEP exam
are granted college credits. Over 80% of U.S. colleges and universities recognize and
grant college credits for students who successfully pass a CLEP examination.
